Evergreen Computing Limited has put together a bang up website showing how BWP Wind Limited Partnership is “endeavoring to minimize the impact of our wind farms on the local environment, communities and other stakeholders while gaining the benefits associated with combating climate change”. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy
“Climate change left unchecked could spell the demise of 15% - 37% of all species by 2050″.
My feeling is it will be a lot sooner than if the present rate of industrializing rural areas for wind factories continues.
Oh yeah and as there is less tax dollars in the pot for developers and there is this annoying news. The wind speed is dropping world wide. Not just here but everywhere. Some say the lack of sunspot activity is what is causing it. I think it is just because the politicians are taking the summer off.
Intermittent, expensive and now disappearing.
Along with our biodiversity.
The biggest threat to the great diversity of life on this planet is us and our urbanization of every nook and cranny.
It reminds me of the clown in the circus reaching out to grasp the ball and each time he got close he would accidentally kick it away.
So sad.

If Chatham Kent council does not require reasonable setbacks to avoid known risks the taxpayer will be on the hook for any lawsuits. We understand that council is enthusiastic about industrial wind farms in our rural areas but that enthusiasm should not blind them to the liabilities of bad planning.
This was Altona New York last month. Good thing this was a service road little traveled.
